I can’t help feel that I’m intruding in their creator’s mental breakdown. Am I alone in this? No you are not alone. I remember when I heard Madcap for the first time and there is that intro - when he is obviously agitated - yes I'm thinking of this yes I am ... I never really knew much about his mental state of the time then - but I was thinking it was sad and really should not be there on the record ....

It also helps that they are my two favourite Queen albums. I'm planning to take the kids to Brighton this week so what better excuse to crank these classics up by way of preparation? They've been my favourite spins of the week, along with parts of Tommy (and always Pink Floyd). Enjoy Brighton!

You know, I’d never registered the correlation between the ‘Seven Seas of Rhye’ fade and ‘Brighton Rock’ until I read your post. I’ve gotta play them in sequence now!

Good stuff on a couple of albums there, if you can get your hands on the box sets - they're superb!

I went the whole hog and played the first 3 Queen albums back to back. Very enjoyable, but unfortunately the planned trip to Brighton had to be postponed due to a signal failure at Victoria. Isn't it always the way?
