Olivier Messaien is one of the most undeservingly neglected composers of the last century. His music for church organ is especially haunting and atmospheric. Jennifer Bate is the most renowned interpreter of this music and this recording of La Nativite Du Seigneur (also included are the equally captivating Le Banquet Celeste & Apparition De l“Eglise Eternelle) is a prime example of her superb interpretation.
