World's Strongest Man – Gaz Coombs
Good to go back to this. So many good songs on it – one track even manages to sound like Can and yet still seems very GC.

Further – Richard Hawley
Harder and more direct than your usual RH at times. If someone had played me the opening track and I didn't know better I would have guessed it was Mark Lanegan.

Pop Kids (CDS) – Pet Shop Boys
Nonetheless / Furthermore - Pet Shop Boys
Dancing Star (CDS) – Pet Shop Boys
Nonetheless is the first PSB'S album for four years apparently. On first listen it sounds very much what you'd expect with the initial single, Loneliness, standing out – no doubt due to familiarity. I have a sneaky feeling that one track may end up being as annoying as that bloody wedding song on one of their more recent albums, but we'll see! The bonus disc – Furthermore – consists of new recordings of a few old favourites. The original versions do not need to feel threatened.

Hanky Panky – The The
Hot on playing the excellent Hank Williams tribute album, comes the news that Matt is releasing his first The The album for almost quarter of a century. The preview track sounds promising enough, too.

Send – Wire
What a blast this album is. I hadn't played this in a while, then suddenly the opening Art Of Stopping seemingly bursts into the ether from nowhere. A thoroughly great racket!
