Wow, how come there is no Peggy Suicide review on here? Better late than never I suppose. My brother stole this album for my mum for Mother’s day when I was nine. I think he thought the cover art would amuse her and he was right. But this chance encounter (he could have stolen anything really) began my love affair with this album and it’s awesome sound and lyrics. My favourite song is Las Vegas Basement. The tale of dreams unfulfilled can unhinge me even in stoic moments. Awesome riffs at the end. “When life’s a bitter pill you swallow down with your last breath…” Thank you for these words, I never thought I would get the opportunity. Safesurfer is a fantastic song, I love the scant lyrics, I also love the words about each song on the jacket, it’s as though the whole album is a piece of art to be taken together. Drive she said is a great rock song, and if anyone can help me out with the chords to any of the songs on this album, I would be forever grateful, and also really wow them at my jam session next sunday. Can anyone clear up this rumour for me: Was Julian in a relationship with Courtney Love at any stage and if this is true, is any of the work on Peggy Suicide loosely based on her? I have just always had a feeling about a certain song, it would be so awesome to have this either confirmed or denied, you know, put my curiosity to bed.

So I was clearly too young to understand those lyrics in Pristeen back when I was a kid, but it amazes me how each time I pull the album out I get a little more from it, a bit more meaning, and it means something new in my life each time. This album is a real masterpiece and is fantastic playyed in the car. Great road trip music, and it’s also tops to get stoned to. The way Julian ‘reviews’ his own music on the jacket actually started me writing about music myself and was a great way to put in writing how it all made me feel, better than a diary or journal ever could. Rock on Jules. PS I am totally serious about the chords. Why the hell can I not find any tabs online??!!
