On QE2 and FG3
Well, it looks like you’re no longer shy about posting on the forums! I’ve read with interest the debate about re-issuing QE2, and have now discussed it at length with Julian, who is adamant that that album should not be re-issued. He told me that all Cope recordings should remain on catalogue at all times; the exceptions being his ‘purely experimental music’ which he considers to be of ‘limited appeal’. The first Rite album was deleted after its first pressing was sold out, to be superseded by Rite 2 – similarly the 136-minutes of QE2 was meant to reflect that period of his work with Thighpaulsandra, and will be superseded by future Queen Elizabeth releases. (The exception here is, of course, the first Queen Elizabeth album – which was not a Head Heritage release.) While I don’t pretend to agree with all of Julian’s arguments, I have to accept them as thoroughly thought out and in no way profit-based. He has, however, told me that there may be a place for a future ‘Best of Queen Elizabeth’ CD which could feature certain QE2 pieces.
Re. Floored Genius 3: Our date for receiving delivery of this is 21st April. As soon as we get the CDs, Chris will put it on the Merchandiser. (We are also expecting to have Droolian back on this date as well.) We extend our apologies for the delay to anyone who has ordered already by post. Those of you who have been with us at Head Heritage for a while now will know that we occasionally have unavoidable delays. We work hard months in advance of releases to try and co-ordinate them with our new Kakalogs but, because of the work involved for all of us with Cornucopea, we were a few weeks out this time. For all of you who have asked what to expect from Floored Genius 3, there will be a special FG3 page on this site soon.
Finally, Head Heritage is planning a new T‑shirt and thought we’d ask if you had any ideas about a Cope-related shirt that you always wished you had. If you have a suggestion to make, please email us at [email protected] (re. T‑shirt).
